Viral Reality - OST Composing Jam #7
A downloadable soundtrack
The game is set in a somewhat far future. A "VR capsule" was recently released and you decided to get one. You enter it and download some games, unaware of the risk.
Turns out the company that made the VR capsule was also doing testing with sentient AI, but it escaped from their servers and managed to copy itself into some of the VR capsules before they managed to delete it. You're one of the unlucky people that is now stuck with a vengeful AI, which maybe can't kill you directly due to the safety measures the company put into the capsule, but not much prevents it from making your life a living hell. After all, you're in ITS world now. And if everything goes right for it... you will stay there. Forever.
Song descriptions:
Viral Reality - the song for the menu. The AI hasn't yet revealed itself and pretends like the game would be calm and happy. It's only in the following themes where the facade gets dropped.
Trapped And Hunted - the song for the first stage which is set in an abandoned factory created by the AI by modifying an existing game. In the stage there are lethal robots that have exactly one objective: to kill you over and over again. The song is divided into two parts, which one plays depends on whether you're spotted or not.
Intermission - the song that plays after a game over and between stages. It's also the first one you hear after you leave the main menu.
Breaking The Illusion - the song for the last stage. You managed to break the previous game and forced the AI to change plans. Because there were no more games that were on the device already, the AI has to attempt to make its own. It tries pretending that it's still in control but ultimately the world it created ends up being very buggy and the player manages to break it as well.
Released - the song that would play during the ending cutscene and credits. The AI ran out of ideas on how to make you give up and gets pissed off because of that. Ultimately due to that it ends up trying to kill you through the capsule. In rage, it forgets that the safety protocols of the device would eject the player if anything weird started happening. By the time it realizes its mistake, it's already too late and you get released back into the real world.
